Randi Shults, RN, BSN, MHSA, CNOR(e)
Chief Executive Officer
Randi has earned an undergraduate degree in Nursing from LaSalle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and a Masters degree in Health Service Administration from the University of St. Francis, Joliet, Illinois.
Randi has 11 years of Operating Room experience and 20 years of experience in the management of surgical care delivery and overall hospital administration. She has worked in both the non profit and for profit arenas, as well as acute care hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers. Randi is also the VP of Operations for National Surgical Healthcare.
In 2004 Randi was relocated by National Surgical Hospitals to oversee the construction and development of North Carolina Specialty’s new replacement hospital located in Durham, North Carolina. Since that time she has held the position of Chief Executive Officer. Her responsibilities include but are not limited to the overall performance of care delivery, quality, satisfaction, and fiscal well being of the hospital. Under her leadership the Hospital has been rated one of the best hospital in the country for patient satisfaction and quality. Randi currently serves on the Execute Board for Project Access of Durham County, a charitable organization focused on the delivery of specialty care to the uninsured.
Bill Wilson, MBA
Chief Financial Officer
Bill has over 20 years of finance experience in the healthcare industry. In August 2001, Bill joined North Carolina Specialty Hospital as the Chief Financial Officer. Bill oversees North Carolina Specialty’s financial operations, seeing that all departments are maintaining the utmost quality of care for patients while working within budget.
Bill joined NCSH from Taylorsville, NC where he served as the Chief Executive and Financial Officer with Alexander Community Hospital. Previously he was Senior Accountant with Epic Healthcare, a leading software organization providing integrated software to health care organizations.
Bill Wilson graduated with Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A&M University, and earned a Master in Business Administration Pfeiffer University in Charlotte, North Carolina. He has been an active member in the Healthcare Financial Management Association since 1992.
John W. Medlin, RN, MSN
Chief Nursing Officer
John has served as the Chief Nursing Officer since 2009, and is responsible for the overseeing of patient, safety, and quality throughout NCSH. Prior to becoming the CNO, John was the Inpatient Director at NCSH. John has served in various nursing and administrative roles from working with Duke University Health Systems in Adult Bone Marrow Transplant unit and Alamance Regional Medical Center.
John has contributed to the success of North Carolina Specialty Hospital as it continues to be ranked as one the best in the country for patient satisfaction and quality.
John earned his Associate Degree in Nursing from Alamance Community College in 1996. He received his Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Western Governor’s University in 2013 and Master’s of Science Nursing, Leadership and Management in 2014.
