Education, Skills, and Experience

After completing his undergraduate and medical school training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Dr. Bowman completed a residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Michigan. During his senior year, he served as chief resident before going on to earn his fellowship in sports medicine and shoulder surgery (at the University of Pittsburgh Center for Sports Medicine).

As previously mentioned, Dr. Bowman was the team physician for the Pittsburgh Steelers, University of Pittsburgh, Duquesne University, Robert Morris University, Pittsburgh Passion, University of Michigan, Eastern Michigan University, the Pittsburgh marathon, and multiple high schools.

Authoring upwards of 17 peer-reviewed publications, Dr. Bowman has also contributed to eight book chapters and has participated in 40 national, regional, and local presentations.

Because of his extensive training and experience as a sports medicine specialist and shoulder expert, Dr. Bowman is able to address:

During his time off, Dr. Bowman enjoys running and road cycling, competing in regional road races and time trials. He also looks forward to spending time with his wife and children.
