Dr. Richard W. Rutherford

Dr. Richard W. Rutherford is a fellowship-trained physician who specializes in joint replacements at EmergeOrtho. He specializes in treating conditions and injuries in the hip and knee via robotic surgery. Dr. Rutherford is passionate about selecting the best approach to treat every patient’s individual needs. Whether that approach is surgical or non-invasive, Dr. Rutherford treats every patient as a member of his family and is committed to getting them back to health.

Education and Expertise

A Raleigh, North Carolina native, Dr. Rutherford received his undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After graduating from UNC, he attended medical school at the Medical College of Georgia before his residency training at Duke University Hospital. Currently, Dr. Rutherford is a member of the Colorado Joint Replacement fellowship program.

Drawing on his extensive education, Dr. Rutherford specializes in treating a collection of orthopedic injuries and conditions such as:
