Dr. Brett Gilbert is a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in the minimally-invasive surgical treatment of hip and knee arthritis. In addition to his excellent technical skills, he is also recognized by his patients for having a kind and compassionate bedside manner.
As part of his surgical expertise, Dr. Gilbert performs minimally-invasive hip and knee joint replacement surgeries, partial knee replacements, MAKOplasty robotic-assisted joint replacements, and revision hip and knee replacement surgeries. His ultimate goal is to help relieve pain, improve range-of-motion and function, and provide a better quality of life for his patients.
After obtaining an undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois, Dr. Gilbert earned his medical degree from the Duke University School of Medicine. Following this, he then completed his orthopedic surgery residency training at Duke University Medical Center as well. From there, Dr. Gilbert attended Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, where he continued his subspecialty training with an additional year of advanced fellowship work in adult joint reconstruction.
Dr. Gilbert is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He is currently a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS), and the North Carolina Orthopedic Association (NCOA).
