Ultrasound imaging, also called sonography, is an important medical diagnostic tool. It is used to examine the heart, gallbladder, blood vessels and other body organs. Ultrasound imaging shows motion using high frequency sound waves that are electronically converted into an image displayed on a video screen. Ultrasound services are provided by registered diagnostic medical sonographers. Our new state-of-the-art Ultrasound machines, with color flow and Doppler imaging, use sound waves passed through the body to generate images. It allows physicians and technologists to view the vascular system, blood vessels, pelvic and abdominal organs, breast tissue, and other organs. During the exam, the patient may be asked to change clothes and wear a gown.
