Urology

Urology is a specialty that treats conditions involving the urinary system including the kidneys, bladder, ureters, urethra, and male reproductive structures. Commonly performed urological procedures at NCSH include:

  • ESWL (extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy): non-invasive treatment of kidney stones that uses shock waves to break stones into small fragments that can be passed out of the body through urination.
