Board-certified, fellowship-trained general surgeon Dr. Thomas Scarritt has specialty training in abdominal and GI and hernia conditions and diseases. His education and expertise enable Dr. Scarritt to provide North Carolina Specialty patients advanced and minimally-invasive surgical approaches for best outcomes.

Educational Background, Certification, and Expertise

After earning an undergraduate degree from Georgetown University, Dr. Scarritt returned to his home state of Alabama. It was there that he earned a medical degree from the University of South Alabama. After moving to the Triangle, Dr. Scarritt completed his residency in general surgery at the University of North Carolina. After residency, he completed a Fellowship in Minimally-Invasive Surgery at the University of Arizona.

His extensive surgical specialities, including laparoscopic surgery and robotic techniques, enable Dr. Scarritt to address diseases of the:
