Dr. John Solic

Dr. John Solic is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon for EmergeOrtho-Triangle Region. Dr. Solic specializes in sports medicine by using minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures on the knee and shoulder to relieve pain, swelling, or other injury—allowing his patients to recover quickly and return to their everyday activities. He is passionate about returning his patients to sports and physical activity, encouraging everyone he meets to live a healthy, active lifestyle.

Education and Expertise

After earning his undergraduate degree at Princeton University, where he also played football, Dr. Solic attended medical school at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. After graduating, he finished his residency in orthopedic surgery training at the Duke University Medical Center. Finally, he underwent the Shoulder and Sports Medicine Fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery.

At EmergeOrtho—Triangle Region, Dr. Solic addresses a wide variety of shoulder conditions and injuries, such as:

Community Connections

Before joining the EmergeOrtho—Triangle Region team, Dr. Solic treated patients of all physical ability levels. From recreational athletes to professional athletes in the NFL, NBA, and MLB, Dr. Solic has extensive experience with athletes. Also, he served as an assistant-team physician for Iona College and the Brooklyn Nets.

If Dr. Solic is not treating patients or in surgery, you can find him outside or in the gym, as he is still an active athlete. He enjoys running, golfing, and lifting weights.

Dr. Solic is currently a member of several organizations, including the International Cartilage Repair Society, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine.
