Dr. Mark Messmer
Dr. Mark Messmer is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with expertise in joint replacement, sports medicine, and advanced shoulder and knee procedures. He is dedicated to helping patients regain strength, mobility, and confidence in their daily activities.
Dr. Messmer completed his medical degree at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, earned a Master of Science in Medical Education from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, and finished his residency training at LECOM Health – MCH in Pennsylvania.
He also served as an Orthopedic Surgeon in the United States Navy, where he gained extensive experience treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. Today, he provides individualized care at EmergeOrtho—Triangle Region’s Roxboro and Oxford offices, and performs procedures at this surgery center.
Dr. Messmer’s approach blends advanced surgical techniques with compassionate, patient-centered care to help people return to active, healthy lifestyles.
